After their recent appearance at the AT&T Shape conference in Los Angeles, Noitom, the company behind the Perception Neuron motion capture product line, will be back on the West Coast for Comic-Con International San Diego, taking place July 18-21 at the San Diego Convention Center.

The annual conference, which attracts over 100,000 attendees, and now in its 50th year, welcomes fans of comics, superhero movies, animation, and science fiction. Noitom will have two booths during Comic-Con. The first booth will be in the Space Zone at Future Tech Live which will be located directly across the street from the convention center at the Omni San Diego Hotel. Future Tech Live is an official Comic-Con event and will feature various technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and robotics, and the many ways they can be applied to entertainment. In the Space Zone, Noitom will be showcasing their Alice Space lunar landing experience.

Just in time to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, guests of Comic-Con will have the chance to take their own walk on the moon with Alice Space—a fully-immersive, multi-user, mixed-reality journey that takes players into the depths of space and onto the moon's surface. This one-of-its-kind virtual reality experience allows up to six free-roaming players to first explore the ins-and-outs of a lunar space-craft and then culminating with a walk upon the moon's surface where they can look beyond the stars to see planet Earth in the distance. The large tracking space allows players to explore freely, all the while interacting with each other and with various real objects around the space-craft and on the moon's surface. Alice Space utilizes backpack PC's, HMD's and inertial/optical tracking for the hands. Created in collaboration with NASA, the hyper-realistic space experience will be one of the major highlights of Comic-Con 2019.

Noitom will offer demos of Alice Space throughout the length of the conference. There will be three sessions taking place per hour. Attendees will need to check-in at the booth to try the experience.

At their second booth, Noitom will give attendees the chance to see live digital cosplay made possible with software by Facerig. Combined with Noitom's Perception Neuron Pro system, the 3D animated characters will be able to engage with audiences in real-time, showcasing the capabilities for digital puppeteering. At the same booth, there will also be demos of Notch real-time graphics rendering software which makes stunning live VFX possible for the stage and performances.
